LMH Shelters by Ecobaun
The current housing crisis is affecting hundreds of thousands of people globally and is growing. The key in combating homelessness is making available low and no-income housing providing basic amenities in the beginning to help people get transition back.
In the US, the greatest issues hampering this effort is cost, access and regulation. As construction delivery experts, we began studying better options and delivery methods for the public response to homeless and housing needs. Our conclusion is simple transitional housing designed as a prefabricated module that meets cost, durability and periodic replacement standards we looked for.
People with little to no income are difficult to qualify for affordable housing yet pose the most risk to the state and local government for support and cost. Providing intermediate housing reduces overall government cost and impact.
The LMH (Lay My Head) Shelter is uniquely designed transitional housing. The LMH is a hardened steel shell with prefabricated “living modules” inserted end to end. This prefabricated design guarantees quality, lowers unit cost and allows simple maintenance and unit replacement as necessary.
The LMH shelter is simple and reliable transitional housing. LMH modules comes in various floor plans depending on needs and insures safety, privacy, bed, toilet, shower, sink, kitchenette and highspeed internet. The LMH can be connected to local utilities or designed as stand alone. The to our design key is flexibility.
Our goal is to partner with public and private organizations to create LMH transitional villages quickly setup where shelter housing is required. The use potential for this simple housing is great. The LMH meets basic housing needs and can be deployed quickly and without limitation.
It is now possible to provide the same mission critical design requirements for hardened shelter, privacy, bed, bath and communications at a fraction of cost and regulation of current housing programs.
